2007 WaterColor Fire Station F.I.E.R.O. (The Fire Industry Equipment Research Organization) awarded the WaterColor Fire Station a 2007 Award of Merit.   The award recognizes excellence in design and construction of fire stations across the U. S., and includes stations both completed and on-the-boards, and new construction as well as renovations.  The jury which selected the winners was composed of a firefighter from Charlotte, NC, the editor of Fire News, the Captain of the Clemson University Fire Department, the facility manager of the Phoenix Fire Department, the Fire Chief of the Notre Dame University Fire Department, and the Captain of the Poudre (Fort Collins, CO) Fire Authority.
