Production Principal, Bob Johnson, AIA

Robert E. Johnson, AIA, is the Principal responsible for DAG Architects Inc.’s production. Bob serves as the principal responsible for the quality of the firm’s delivery system. He works with the appropriate principal in charge to accomplish this goal. He also chairs the firm’s committee on drafting standards and formally reviews ongoing projects within the office. He has in-depth experience in master planning, design and construction of schools, prisons and governmental office buildings, which he gained while associated with PH&J Architects, Inc., in Montgomery. Bob was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach and now lives with his family in Mary Esther, Florida.

Representative Projects include the following:

West Florida Technical High School – served as the Project Managing Principal for the $10.5 million conversion of this vocational – technical high school in Pensacola into a fully integrated technical high school. The new construction includes a gymnasium, food service facility, physical education building and a new classroom building. Remodeling and renovation encompassed 105,889 square feet, which brought together academic education with technical instruction for five “communities.”

Everitt Middle School – Project Managing Principal for new construction and renovation of existing facility totaling 24,100 square feet. The project included a new gymnasium addition, ESE classrooms and renovation of the technology and science laboratories. The organization of the spaces was accomplished using the input from stakeholders who were interviewed during the programming process. These included students, teachers, school administrators, and district staff.

OWCC Health Technology Building – serves as the Production Department’s head for the remodeling and renovation of the former library building, which will serve the newly created nursing and dental departments. Construction began when the library moved into the new Learning Resource Building and is scheduled to be completed in 2004.

Destin Library – served as the Production Department’s head for the new 13,136 square foot library for the City of Destin. The facility was designed to reflect the city’s heritage while fitting into a residential environment.

Crestview Library – served as the Production Department’s head for a new 16,500 square foot library for the City of Crestview. Part of a fifteen acre civic complex, which in addition to the library includes a new 17,250 square foot community center. The programming and master planning, as well as the design were parts of his work.
