Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village
Destin, Florida

The Cultural Arts Village provides the infrastructure to unite the community through the arts.
Located on a 52 acre site in the heart of Destin’s commercial district, the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village has created a place for both local residents and tourists to come together and celebrate the literary, visual and performing arts. Almost 10 years after DAG developed a master plan for the Village, the first phase opened, consisting of a permanent stage and event lawn to accommodate a 5,000 person audience, additional on-site parking, a sculpture entranceway, and a permanent restroom facility.
The Dugas Pavilion and Village Green hosts a variety of artistic activities ranging from concerts and festivals to comedy and theatrical productions. Future phases will include a mixed use building housing administrative offices, student art labs, gallery and meeting space, a sculpture garden, and a 350-seat “black box” theater. An Artist Village is also envisioned to provide a serene, productive environment for artist residency programs. “[DAG’s] unwavering commitment towards creativity, design and vision has significantly contributed to the successful progress to develop a world-class cultural arts facility,” said Marcia Hull, Executive Director of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation.
