Northwest Medical Center, one of Buckhead’s premier multi-tenant medical office buildings since the 1970s, underwent a major upgrade and modernization project. The programming and design for this 156,0000-square-foot, four-story, medical office building included a new arrival plaza addressing ADA and drop-off reorganization, a pedestrian canopy bridge and fresh wayfinding signage. A new skin of insulated metal panels and 1” insulated loading glass replaced the original steel, giving the building an updated appearance while correcting heat gain and noise issues from the nearby expressway. Xeriscaping created an inviting courtyard to greet guests and provided a break space for staff, while keeping sustainability in mind and conserving water.
